Omanising the Global Goals for Sustainable Development is a Webinar Series by SustainableOman.

To know more about how Oman is doing to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning, we will have a look at Oman Environmental Services Holding Company’s (or be’ah) Environmental Center for Excellence (ECE). We discover how the ECE fosters research and development within the waste management sector as well as capacity building, knowledge transfer, and community outreach.

As a guest speaker, we will be having Dr. Mohab Ali Al-Hinai, Head of the ECE.

About Dr. Mohab Ali Al Hinai

Mohab Ali Al-Hinai is currently serving as the Head of the Environmental Center of Excellence (ECE) at the Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “be’ah”.

Previously, Dr. Al-Hinai was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biology, College of Science, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) where his research work focused on the production of biofuels from various microorganisms.

Currently, Dr. Al-Hinai is spearheading the Environmental Center of Excellence at be’ah, which aims to foster research and development within the waste management sector as well as capacity building, knowledge transfer and community outreach. Specifically, the center is designed to ensure that broader sustainability initiatives such as circular economy activities, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and waste management hierarchy are integrated throughout the company and at a national level.
