Omani Youth Day

26 October 2020

His Majesty, the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said since the initiation of the Blessed Renaissance has continually issued his wise and farsighted instructions to the government to take care of youth, help them in various ways and harness all the possibilities to achieve their hopes and dreams.

October 26 is celebrated as Omani Youth Day every year.

The sultanate celebrates Omani Youth Day to appreciate the significance of youth. It aims to acknowledge the importance in enabling the Omani youth to develop and realise their full potential, which is critical, as youth are the backbone and future of the nation.

The efforts of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Sports Affairs, National Youth Committee, Public Authority for SME Development, Al Raffd Fund, the Summer Programmes for Youth and His Majesty’s Cup are all instances of His Majesty the Sultan’s keen interest in the welfare of Omani youth.

The youth sector is the most meaningful category in any society because it represents its productive capacity that undoubtedly leads to the advancement and sustainability of all sectors.

Why Do We Mark International Days?

SustainableOman, as a supporter of the SDGs and Oman Vision 2040, has embraced them as a powerful advocacy tool. Each international day offers many actors the opportunity to organise activities related to the theme of the day.

SustainableOman makes an international day, in addition to the Sultanate’s special days, a part of our awareness building campaign.
